Click the back button in the top left of the Map Information Panel. If you are a viewer who is not logged into the account that owns the map, this will pull up a list of that account’s public maps, or if you are logged into the account, it will take you to the Maps Page.
A map object is a polygon, line, or point asset that you add to a map. These objects can contain information and media about the specific asset. For example, you may draw a timber stand (polygon) and post its stocking table and a video of its last cruise, or you may mark a lodge on the map and include information and images about the ranch.
The Map Object Information Panel is the window that appears when you click on a map object, such as a road or structure. It displays the information and media associated with that object.
The Map Information Panel is the large window located in the top left corner of a map view. The panel displays media and information about a map and its objects.
This section displays the location, acreage, and price of the property and contact information for the map owner. You can click on the contact information to email or call the map owner directly from the map.
Click on “Details” to read a description of the property and see more contact information. A map owner can edit this section on the Property Settings page, which can be accessed by clicking the gear icon in the Map Tools.
Click on a picture or video to enlarge and view it. The map asset that the picture is connected to will be indicated on the map. Click on the left or right arrow to continue scrolling through the pictures and videos. Click the “x” in the top right corner of the map view to close the enlarged media and return to the map.
The List tab displays each map object associated with a property. Click on the name of the particular map object that you wish to view. The map will center on the map object, and the Map Object Information Panel will appear.
To hide all map objects and boundaries, click “Hide All.” To view specific types of map objects, click one or multiple boxes on this list of map objects to turn them on or off. Click “Show All” to view all boundaries and map objects associated with the property.

Mouse over them to highlight them on the map, and click on any of them to bring up their Map Object Information Panel. Click the name of the layer again to hide the list of map objects. To hide the map objects associated with a layer, click the checkbox to the right of the layer name. To unhide them, click the checkbox again. When a broker exits a map when a layer is hidden, that layer will be hidden by default when a viewer opens the map. Likewise, all unhidden layers will be shown by default.
Click on a file to access it.
Choose the “Stats” tab to view a property’s stats, such as total acreage, total water area and total timber area.
Map Tools are a series of buttons in the upper right hand corner of the map view. They enable map owners and viewers to navigate maps and view information about properties, such as areas, distances, and elevations.
The Share button allows map owners and viewers to copy links to the map, copy HTML code to embed maps into websites, and share maps on Facebook and Twitter.

Both Free and Premium accounts allow users to create and share an unlimited number of maps and fully use TerraStride Pro. The difference between these account types is how their maps appear when shared. Maps shared from Free accounts only display property boundaries. Maps shared from Premium accounts display all map objects, media, and documents that the account owner has added to them. For more information, see terrastridepro.com/pricing/.
If you are using TerraStride Pro for limited or personal reasons, you may not need to share your maps with other people. In this case, a Free Account should serve your purposes. However, if you are using TerraStride Pro to market properties or collaborate on maps, a Premium Account will enable you to share your maps and their map objects with others. If you are planning to send maps to a prospect or colleague, post them to a website, or add them to listings on a multiple listing service, purchasing a Premium Account is the best strategy.
Create and share an unlimited numbers of maps.
Add and edit map objects, media, and documents.
Generate and print PDFs of maps.
Download and use TerraStride Pro Mobile for Android and iOS.
Purchase and use Parcel Overlays for an unlimited number of states.
When you share a free map, only the property boundary and description will be viewable, but not the map objects and media.
A Premium Account includes everything that a Free Account does. In addition, it enables map objects, media, and documents to be viewed when the map is shared.
If your subscription to a Premium Account expires, your account will become a Free one, and its maps will stop displaying map objects, media, and documents. You will not lose any assets or media you have added to your maps, but only the property boundary and description will be viewable when these maps are shared.
We have integrated a listing of TerraStride Pro properties into HuntStand to allow users to find properties and land for sale in their area. TerraStride owns and operates HuntStand, the most popular hunting and land management app on the market. HuntStand has had more than 2 millions downloads, has over 1.5 million active and engaged users, and was recognized by Outdoor Life Magazine as the Best Hunting App in the country. If you would like to see the way this section of the HuntStand app functions you can watch this video. This will give you a huge amount of free exposure and will significantly increase the visibility of your listings.
Here is what that means for TerraStride Pro:Your properties will only be viewable on HuntStand if you are a premium subscriber. Premium subscribers will automatically have access to this feature.
By default properties with market status of 'Open' will be publicly viewable on HuntStand while properties with a market status of 'Private' or 'Closed' will not be.
You may choose to opt-out from having your properties displayed on HuntStand by going to Settings > Account Settings, unchecking the checkbox labeled "Display your public propertys on our HuntStand app?" at the bottom of the page and clicking 'Update Settings'.
You may set specific properties to not be viewable on HuntStand even with market status 'Open' by clicking the property on your listings page, going to the 'Sharing' tab and unchecking the checkbox labeled "Publicly display this property on our HuntStand app?". This will apply even if your account setting is opted in. The sharing tab will definitively let you know if the property will be listed on HuntStand or not.
The HuntStand Land for Sale list is updated every 15 minutes so new or modified properties, as well as changes to your display settings, will take after a short period.
Yes, you may upgrade or alter your subscription at any time. To do so, visit “Subscription Settings” on the Maps Page. Upgrades will take effect immediately, while terminating a Premium Account will take effect at the start of its next billing cycle. When you deactivate your subscription, you will not lose access to your account or maps; however, viewers will no longer be able to see map objects and media on the maps that they have access to. You will receive an email confirming an upgrade or alteration.
You may purchase a subscription at any time. Once you have a free account, go to your Maps Page and access Subscription Settings by clicking the gear icon in the upper right hand corner. Click “Subscribe to TerraStride Pro.” You will receive a confirmation email upon the successful purchase of your subscription. Your username and password will remain the same.

To create a new property, visit the Maps Page. Click “+New Property” in the right-hand side of the page. The property name and contact phone number and email address are required fields.
By entering the address or lat/long when creating a new property, the map will center on that location. TerraStride Pro supports three ways to create map boundaries:
The Parcel Overlays layer, when purchased and available, will display all of a county's parcels. Users can find the parcel for their listing, select it, and save its boundary to the map. This is the fastest way to create a property boundary.
Users can import a KML, KMZ, or shape file from another system, such as Google Earth Pro or ArcGIS.
Draw the boundaries using the “Draw Polygon” editing tool. You can edit a Boundary or any line or polygon once it is has been created using the Modify Map Feature tool.
Yes. We offer services for creating and managing through our network of partners. Contact sales@terrastride.com for more information.
Either draw in the boundary using PLSS base layer or use one of TerraStride Pro’s partners to help. Our partners can take the legal descriptions that you send them, double check their accuracy, and convert them into boundaries on maps that they create on your TerraStride Pro account. Contact sales@terrastride.com for more information.
You can import KML, KMZ and shape files and export KML files from TerraStride Pro. Go to the “Property Settings” page for a map and click on the appropriate tab.
A map object is a polygon, line, or point asset that you add to a map. These objects can contain information and media about the specific asset. For example, you may draw a timber stand (polygon) and post its stocking table and a video of its last cruise, or you may mark a lodge on the map and include information and images about the ranch.
When you first create a map object or click on the pencil icon in the bottom right corner of a Map Object Information Panel, a window will appear that will enable you to add information and media to the map object and associate it with a layer.
Editing Tools enable you to create map objects. They are a series of buttons in the top right corner of a map view that appear alongside the Map Tools. They only appear when the owner of an account is logged in and viewing one of the maps associated with the account.
Only the account owner can access the editing tools. Viewers who are not logged into the account that created a map will not be able to access the Editing Tools or make any changes to either the account or map.
Use the Draw Polygon tool to draw property boundaries, as well as boundaries for bodies of water, timber tracts, food plots, fields, etc. To draw a polygon, click the polygon icon. Single click to add the first point on the polygon’s perimeter, and single click to add additional points. If required, you can navigate while drawing a polygon by clicking and holding to drag and move the map. Double click to end the drawing process, create the polygon, and determine its category. Once you draw the polygon, the Map Object Editing Panel will appear and enable you to add photos, videos, a title and information to it. To edit or delete information or media associated with a polygon, click on the polygon and make any desired changes in the Map Object Information Panel.
Use the Draw Line tool to draw a road, trail, path, creek, river, and others. To draw a line, click the line icon. Single click to add the first point of the line, and single click to add additional points. If required, you can navigate while drawing a line by clicking and holding to drag and move the map. Double click to end the drawing process, create the line, and determine its category. Once you draw the line, the Map Object Editing Panel will appear and enable you to add photos, videos, a title and information to it. To edit or delete information or media associated with a line, click on the line and make any desired changes in the Map Object Information Panel.
Use the Place Marker tool to add a point to your map, such as a photo location, video location, club house, field, food plot, hazard, resources, gate, parking, stand, or structure. To place the marker, click the drop-pin icon. Single click to add the point on the map and determine its category. Once you place the marker, the Map Object Editing Panel will appear and enable you to add photos, videos, a title and information to it. To edit or delete information or media associated with a marker, click on the marker and make any desired changes in the Map Object Information Panel.
The Modify Map Feature tool enables you to select a line or polygon and adjust it.
To add, edit, or delete the information or media associated with a map object, access the Map Object Editing Panel. Here you can make changes to the information or media associated with the map object.
You may attach any YouTube or Vimeo video to a map object. First, the video must be available on YouTube or Vimeo. Copy the YouTube or Vimeo video’s URL and paste it into the “Video” field in the Map Object Editing Panel.
Open the Map Object Editing Panel and select the color that you would like it to be.
Open the Map Object Editing Panel. Beside the color swatches, select the “Advanced” button. Click on the color field and use the sliders that appear to change the map object’s opacity.
Yes, you can edit a polygon or line after you have created it. To do so, click the Modify Map Feature icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen; then click on the line or polygon and move its lines.
A layer is a group of map objects. There are two pre-built layers in TerraStride Pro: Parcel Overlays and Federal and State Lands. Users can also create Custom Layers; for example, a hunting layer may contain all of the deer stands, food plots, and ATV sheds on a map.
TerraStride Pro offers Parcel Overlays for the majority of counties in the United States. Users can leverage Parcel Overlays to look up ownership information and quickly save boundaries to a map. Users with either Free or Premium Accounts can leverage parcel overlays for individual states at $149 per year.
The Federal and State Lands Layer turns on an overlay of government lands maintained by the Bureau of Land Management. Click “Legend” to the right on this layer’s title to see an expanded list of the types of lands included in the overlay.
Go to the “Layer” tab in the Map Information Panel and click “+” button.
Access the Map Object Editing Panel. Select the layer you would like to add the object to from the “Add To Layer” field. You must create a layer first in the Layers tab on the Map Information Panel before you can assign a map object to it.
Map objects can only be applied to one layer at a time. If you would like to remove an object from a particular layer, click the “x” to right of the layer’s name.
Click and hold a layer’s name and drag it to the position that you would like for it to be in the list of Layers.
Click the editing pencil icon to the right of the layer’s name.
Click the “x” to the right of the layer’s name.
No. You can delete a layer in the Layers tab without deleting the assets associated with it. It only deletes the map objects’ association with that layer.
To share a map, use the sharing button in the Map Tools. From there, you can copy your map’s URL, post your map to Facebook or Twitter, or get HTML code for embedding your map into a website. A map’s URL can also be copied from the Details section of a map on the Maps Page.
A viewer can see the details and boundaries for maps shared from Free Accounts; however, a viewer will only be able to see map objects on maps shared from Premium Accounts.
Viewers that are not logged into the map owner’s account will be able to access tabs on the Map Information Panel and use the Map Tools - Share, Help, Print PDF, Navigate, Location/Elevation, Measure Distance, and Search - but they will not be able to use the Map Editing Tools.
TerraStride Pro will automatically display the contact information that you provide in the Account Management page. This information will appear on your Maps Page and on the Map Information Panel in the map view.
Yes, you can change any of the details that will be displayed on the Map Information Panel from the Property Settings Page.
Yes. Under Property Setting, deselect “Use Computed Acreage” and type the custom acreage in the Acreage field.
Only people with access to the account that created the map.
No. The maps will be updated everywhere automatically. Whenever a viewer clicks on a map’s link, they will see the most recent version of the map. You do not need to save your maps.
We recommend you use any screen-sharing service, such as Gotomeeting, Google Hangouts, Skype, or join.me, to give virtual tours of maps.
Open Maps are active maps that viewers can access either through a link or your list of maps. By default, maps are set to Open.
Private Maps are active maps that viewers can only access through a direct link. Private maps will not appear to viewers on your list of maps.
Closed Map are inactive maps that no one except the account owner can access. Links to Closed Maps are dead, and Closed Maps are listed in a separate list below that of the Open Maps.
On the Maps Page, click on the name of the map or the “Details” button. Choose “Close” or “Private” in the status drop-down box.
When you close a map, it will become inactive and no longer viewable to anyone besides the account owner. The account owner will still be able to edit a closed map. The closed map will be archived in the Closed list on the Maps Page.
Yes. While you will still be able to view and edit a closed map, if you would like to reactivate it, you may do so easily by switching the map’s status from Closed to Open or Private.
Go to the list of maps on the Properties tab under the Account Settings page. Click the delete button beside the map you would like to permanently erase. We recommend that you close versus delete your maps. Eventually, we will provide reporting tools that will give you the ability to track the success of your listings and their maps.
